New models of Weintek cMT series

IIoT standard protocols MQTT and OPC-UA implemented

Weintek is one of the first manufacturers in HMI market who developed products to achieve the technical requirements of Industry 4.0 respectively Industry Internet of Things (IIot). To guarantee this requirements they have implemented the IIoT standard protocol MQTT and OPC-UA in most of the models of new cMT series.

MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) is an open protocol for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication and because of the simple architecture it becomes nearly the most important IIoT standard protocol.

By using MQTT the communication partner will be connected with a central server (broker) and the messages will be send event-driven in a publish/subscribe architecture. The broker can be used with common cloud systems like AmazonWebServices (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud or IBM Bluemix. For the use of publisher Weintek offer the communication gateways cMT-G01 or cMT-G02 whereas the HMI cMT3090 or cMT3072 perfectly fit for the use of subscriber.

OPC-UA was developed as standard communication protocol to connect different PLCs from different manufacturers. It is not necessary to use the specific protocol of each manufacturer device. All devices compatible with OPC-UA can be connected by using this new protocol. Tag import ensure an easy implementation of the relevant PLC addresses of the project.

With the development of these new HMI the Weintek product range is ready for the Industry 4.0 / IIoT.
